Employee Spotlight: Germaine Chang

Our spotlight beams down on our Marketing Manager, Germaine Chang, who also moonlights as our Accounting Assistant. She's Umbrella Consulting's brand ambassador and visual storyteller. With a customer-centric mindset and business-focused approach, Germaine aims to create an experience that's fresh, memorable and authentic.

If you weren't in marketing, what job would you want to do? Something where I can work with my hands to create: woodworker, ceramic artist or some sort of plant stylist / landscaper.

What was your very first job? Data entry and sorting mail for a medical / dental courier.

Building IKEA furniture: torture or enjoyable? Definitely enjoyable. Just bring me the box and step aside.

What's the most memorable place you've travelled to? I once went ice fishing and skidooing on a frozen lake in Manitoba. It was -20C with a wind chill, and ultimately memorable.

What's your ideal way to start the day? Getting up at the same time every day and having a hot coffee (emphasis on hot).

What do you enjoy about working with the Umbrella team? Everyone is so down to earth and easy to get along with. So much respect for how hard this team works.
